Ann Cotter established Cotter Tax Consulting in 2020. Ann is a tax consultant with over 30 years’ experience working with family businesses and private clients. Prior to setting up Cotter Tax Consulting, Ann worked as a Tax Director with Grant Thornton in Cork leading a team of tax professionals and trainee accountants.
During her time in Grant Thornton Ann advised many well-known businesses on complex tax issues. This included dealing with challenges facing the business, how to structure the business start-up, issues arising during the growth phase of the business, providing tax advice to the founder member on the sale of the business and estate planning on passing on the business to the children.
Ann also worked as a Tax Director with Welch & Co in Cork City. Welch & Co provided tax, audit and accountancy, corporate finance, and corporate compliance services to medium sized businesses in Munster and provided a full range of consultancy and compliance services to corporate and personal tax clients.
Ann has worked as a senior tax manager in Cooper and Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) leading a tax team advising domestic and international clients on many high-level tax related assignments. Ann gained a broad experience in all areas of taxation, and she worked as a trusted business and tax adviser and confidant to many well-known family businesses.
Ann worked as an Estate Planning Executive with Bank of Ireland for four years and gained significant experience dealing with the legal profession on Wills, Trusts and Estate Planning.
Ann is an active member of the Institute of Taxation Branch Network liaison committee with Revenue.
